It is my sincere pleasure to let you know that Namati (@namati_staff) has been elected to the TAP Network Steering Committee (2018-2019). The other incoming Steering Committee representatives include Transparency International; Asia Development Alliance (ADA); Human Rights First Rwanda Association (HRFRA); and SDG Kenya Forum. Congratulations to all of the organizations for their nominations, and thank you for your support.
The Transparency, Accountability & Participation (TAP) Network is a global advocacy coalition of 250+ CSOs that works to ensure that open, inclusive, accountable, effective governance and peaceful societies are at the heart of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and that civil society is recognized and mobilized as indispensable partners in the design, implementation of and accountability for sustainable development policies, at all levels.
Namati has been an active member of the TAP Network since its launch around the adoption of the SDGs, and has worked to bring access to justice and legal empowerment perspective to the TAP Network. As a member, this past year, we worked closely to co-design and launch the “Advocacy, Justice and the SDGs toolkit”, which has since been shared with TAP Network members all over the world.
As a member of the Steering Committee, we will continue to bring access to justice and legal empowerment issues to the work of this global advocacy coalition working to advance the #sdgs. But perhaps most importantly, we will be able to represent the advocacy goals of the Global Legal Empowerment Network and bring exciting new opportunities to you, the Network.
Let us know what you think below, and we look forward to serving you, the Global Legal Empowerment Network, on the TAP Network Steering Committee for the next year!
