Access to justice project in Liberia

(John Kamma) #1

As Community Justice gets expanded, I was In Gbarnga, Bong County April 4, as was previously done with Kakata and the Monrovia team sites, making presentation as founder and executive director, Citizen Bureau for Development and Productivity (CBDP) in the Liberia National Police (LNP) when addressing mediators on engagement with the police, magistrate courts, community entry strategy amongst others.

The project is financed by a UNDP grant and is done in collaboration with the Accountability Lab. It is met to increase community access to justice, provide security for the people of Liberia and strengthen the rule of law as part of Civil Society contributions in the wake of UNMIL departure from the country, given the lack of affordability, accessibility and timeliness of the formal justice system. the goal is to ensure that everyone has justice regardless of one background or station in life in the country where it is commonly said that there is no justice for the poor!
