The Global Legal Empowerment Network is a member and current Steering Committee representative of the Transparency, Accountability and Participation Network (TAP). As a member, our community has the opportunity to submit case studies for consideration in the forthcoming SDG Accountability handbook, a guide with practical tips and advice for how civil society can help ensure accountability for the SDGs.
This a wonderful opportunity for our community to share experiences of how grassroots justice and legal empowerment has and can continue to promote accountability for SDG16 and all the #sdgs at the local, regional, and global levels.

According to the TAP Network,
“In addition to showcasing practical guidance on SDG accountability, the SDG Accountability Handbook will also feature relevant case studies from civil society on various approaches to accountability. Following on the broad consultations that the TAP Network has undertaken for the drafting of this Handbook, we are looking for colleagues from civil society to send us case studies to include throughout this Handbook. It is our hope that these case studies will help maximize the learning opportunities around this Handbook, and that they will help guide colleagues to frame their own approaches to SDG accountability in their own contexts.”
How to submit a case study
If your organization is already a TAP member and partner, submit your case study through this survey by Wednesday, October 31, 2018.
If you would like to submit a case study as a member of the Global Legal Empowerment Network, please send a message to @cocolammers by Wednesday, October 31, 2018 with the following information:
- What approach to accountability does your case study relate to?
- Facts / Background: (What happened? Who was involved?)
- CSO Engagement: (How were you and/or civil society involved? What did you do? What challenges did you face? What worked well?)
