COVID-19 and Indigenous Peoples Resilience - Zimbabwe

Centre Stage Media Arts Foundation (CSMA) joins the world in commemorating the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. This year’s theme is, “COVID-19 and Indigenous Peoples Resilience.”

CSMA is concerned by the heightened human rights and socio-economic vulnerabilities due to COVID-19 that indigenous communities in Zimbabwe, namely the San community have been exposed to.

Aware of the marginalisation and vulnerabilities of indigenous communities in Zimbabwe, CSMA urges duty bearers in Zimbabwe to provide targeted support to these communities to alleviate suffering and mitigate the health and socio-economic impact of COVID-19.
