We collected data capturing how long pretrial detainees have stayed imprisoned at the Monrovia Central Prison. We presented the data in an information session involving Prosecutors and Defense Lawyers alongside representation from Civil Society organizations. Attendees appreciated the collection and presentation and called for more roundtable meeting involving Prosecutors, Defense Lawyers, Judges and Civil society to stimulate more discussions around detainees exceeding statutory period of detention without trial in a competent court of jurisdiction. Everyone deserves a fair trial by facing their accuser in a competent court of jurisdiction despite background or station in life.
