The green tribunal of India had a couple of months back banned camping activity along the banks of river Ganga in Rishikesh until a regulatory regime comes into place.
Recently however when the NGO that had filed the appeal had gone to the said area it found several beach camps. This was contrary to the affidavit the state government there had filed saying that the camps were not operational.
How can effective compliance with court orders be ensured? Is there a problem of non-compliance with court orders there in other countries also?
