The International Congress of Global Peasants’ Rights will be held from the 7th - 10th of March 2017, in Schwaebisch Hall, Germany. Following ongoing discussion at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva by the working group for the development of a “Declaration on the Rights of Peasants and Other People working in Rural Areas”, the goal of the Congress is to increase awareness of the situation and the urgent needs of small farmers, and to contribute to the debate.
The International Land Coalition is offering to sponsor three ILC members to attend (if they cannot cover their own expenses). If your organization is an ILC member and you would like to apply for ILC sponsorship, please complete the APPLICATION FORM and send to g.tocchi@landcoalition.org by 3rd of February. Preference will be given to ILC members from the South, particularly those directly representing youth, pastoralists, and women land rights.
