Hybrid entities as a strategy to fund human rights work

I have just come across an article on OpenGlobalRights about hybrid entities - those that mix for-profit and not-for-profit efforts, hoping that the former can financially support the latter.

This one looks at Memria.org and the fact that storytelling is a need both in social justice spaces as well as the private sector, where businesses can use stories to get “feedback.” Demand for stories in both sectors allowed this organization to use its expertise to earn a profit and advance human rights initiatives.

Of course, there are many challenges when pursuing both not-for-profit and for-profit work at the same time - read the article to learn more, and comment here with your reactions!

Thanks for sharing. This is the most aspect of NGOs, funding is the most challenge
