Job opportunity for a Climate Change and Biodiversity Coordinator with Action4Justice in collaboration with IHRDA

Action4Justice in collaboration with the Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa (IHRDA) are seeking a Climate Change and Biodiversity Coordinator based in The Gambia!

An exciting opportunity for those interested in using legal interventions to effect social justice and bring about positive changes. Action4Justice is working to address the threats posed by Climate Change and Biodiversity loss, improving access to justice by providing practical legal information on how legal action can be used for social justice.

In collaboration with The Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa (‘IHRDA’), we are seeking a Climate Change and Biodiversity Coordinator to help us continue this vital work. As Climate Change and Biodiversity Coordinator, you will lead the Climate Change and Biodiversity in Africa Project. The project will improve access to justice by providing tailored information, legal empowerment and education tools and building networks in areas that impact the rights and lives of poor and marginalised communities in Africa.

The successful candidate will be aligned with Action4Justice’s vision and will possess experience and hands-on knowledge in climate change and biodiversity public interest litigation. They will be highly networked and able to collaborate with other civil society groups and lawyers at all levels.

The role will be based at IHRDA’s offices in Banjul, The Gambia and will commence in December 2021.
