The Centre for Policy Research-Namati Environmental Justice Program, with support from Duleep Matthai Nature Conservation Trust has put together 3 sets of legal materials.

The first set of materials deals with the various legal mechanisms related to Human-Wildlife Conflict in the states of Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gujarat and Karnataka. The information present in these materials is largely based on publicly available information and discussions with partner organisations.

The second set of materials provides information on the legal provisions under which protection and conservation areas are formed, the spaces available for the local communities, and the monitoring mechanisms.

Both these materials can be accessed at: Legal Material on Human wildlife conflict and Biodiversity and Conservation areas | Centre for Policy Research

The third set relates to the protection of Common Lands in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gujarat and Karnataka in context of the 2011 judgement of the Supreme Court, Jagpal Singh v. The State of Punjab. The material discusses the various state legislations and other administrative orders which have been passed in light of the aforementioned judgement.

These materials can be accessed at: Material on Common Property Resources | Centre for Policy Research
