Namati and the Global Legal Empowerment Network are thrilled to announce that we have been selected as a recipient of the 2016 Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship.
According to the Skoll Foundation, the award is presented to leaders and organizations that are disrupting the status quo, driving large-scale “equilibrium” change, and are poised to create even greater impact on the world.
This is a generous recognition of the power and promise of the legal empowerment movement and we will use this opportunity to raise our movement’s profile among an expanded global wider community of allies and supporters.
The official award ceremony will take place this Thursday during the Skoll World Forum in Oxford. Skoll has made a beautiful five-minute video about the work of grassroots legal advocates that will be broadcast at the event. You can view it now, below.
Congratulations to all of the legal empowerment practitioners, Network members, partners and supporters for this shared achievement. Your hard work and dedication to justice are what made this possible. We look forward to growing the movement for legal empowerment together in the years ahead.
