Role of Civil Society in representing and empowering the marginalised and State's response

The recent HRC resolution A/HRC/47/L.1(Human Rights Documents) is an acknowledgement of everlasting struggle of civil society. The aspect of Shrinking space for civil society while simultaneously increasing need for the same has evolved as universal truth during this pandemic worldwide where the State and its instrumentalities (both developed and developing nations)have exploited the pandemic itself to suppress dissent and difference of opinion and crackdown on civil society for raising for those who have suffered due to the lethargy of State machinery or where the State has failed to ensure the bare minimum guarantees of Human Right, right to life, dignity, livelihood.
