Webinar: Discussion about an Online Resource Guide on How To Develop A Community Paralegal Program (December 2015)

Update: Click here to access the webinar recording.

Community Paralegals/Grassroots Legal Advocates are also called by names other than paralegal. Some communities refer to them as community advisors, community facilitators, community mobilizers, and so on. However, the work they do is similar across the world – that of helping their communities access essential services through the use of laws and tools available to them.

At Namati, Community Paralegals are at the heart of all the programs as well as the global network. As an organization, Namati is working on consolidating and expanding the field of paralegal practice by providing resources that would guide practitioners who have the desire to develop a community paralegal program wherever they are.

In this webinar, @michaelotto has invited practitioners to discuss a new online resources guide by looking at the guide itself; take participants on an explanation tour of the resource guide – particularly looking at the structure and content, with a view of receiving constructive feedback from participants.

Many thanks!

Thank you, @lytteltonbraima for the post about tomorrow’s webinar. While this webinar is intended to be an informal introduction to our How to Develop a Community Paralegal Program resource guide, to be followed by a group feedback discussion, we are happy to have others join if you are interested. Please let us know by email or here. We may hold another webinar open to the Network on the topic soon, which will be posted much earlier than the day before, of course!

Many thanks!

Thank you to those of you who joined earlier today from Nigeria and Myanmar, it was an insightful discussion that has provided useful feedback for additions and revisions to the resource guide. We will post the next webinar much sooner and allow for more participation from Network members, this first feedback session was more informal and held with a smaller group to start.

If you are interested in participating in or conducting a practitioner webinar on this topic or any other, please do not hesitate to let us know and we will set it up for you. Thanks -
