Applications Closed

Dear Friends,

Every year the field of legal empowerment becomes more robust, with ever-increasing evidence of what works. It is now time to take stock of what we know.

Which is why we are pleased to announce a groundbreaking leadership course on the practice and theory of legal empowerment – the first of its kind.

CLICK HERE TO ENROLL - DEADLINE 14 JULY

The course is a collaboration between the Central European University, BRAC University, South Asian Institute of Advanced Legal and Human Rights Studies, The Open Society Justice Initiative and Namati.

Led by a faculty of notable researchers and practitioners, we will explore the history of the movement, core legal empowerment methodologies, and the latest evidence of impact.

The course runs from 30 November to 3 December 2015 in Budapest, Hungary. Applications are due by July 14, 2015. Scholarships are available to a limited number of applicants.

Applications are open to civil society organizations, government officials, development agency representatives, academics and researchers.

This opportunity couldn’t be more timely, with access to justice likely to be a key target of the UN’s new Sustainable Development Goals.

From the grassroots to the halls of power, we are making an impact. By understanding how we’re doing it, we can become a more effective force for justice.

In solidarity,

Vivek Maru and the whole Namati team

Hi Vivek! Thanks for offering this amazing opportunity. WANA and another member of the Legal Empowerment Coalition are hoping to send representatives as we plan for our women’s legal empowerment program which will commence in January 2016! The course will be a great way to ensure that the project is conceptualised using LE methodologies.
