I personally was born missing a right leg. As a girl/woman, with disability growing up in rural community, discrimination from some of my family members and community made me grow up in a miserable, troubled and in a denial state. So I resorted to education as the only widow of empowerment.
After completing my degree, I started up a community based group called Buikwe Disabled and Vulnerable Empowerment Association to promote opportunities to support, connect and grow among the most vulnerable communities namely people with disabilities, girl child, orphans, women and Old persons around Lake Victoria shores.
Much as I am advocating for the rights of the disability community, I need to learn more from others and also be linked to possible funders to advance our goal of promoting holistic community resilience on the issues of human rights, advocacy, ageing, vulnerability and disability in Buikwe District and surrounding communities.
