Comrade Akinwunmi Olayemi is the Secretary of the Board of Trustees and Chief Executive Officer of Pralarg, Pralarg is the acronym of Prisons Rehabilitation and Law Abiding Organization, a non-governmental, non-religious and non-ethnic organization with mandate to enhance respect for the rule of law, promote good practice, investigate and expose perceived human right breech among others. It is devoted to the rehabilitation of prisons’ inmates and reduction of crimes through the promotion of good moral values, using various strategies. These include Prisons Rehabilitation, Civic and Moral Education, as well as Public Enlightenment about criminal cases in Nigeria. Other strategies are economic empowerment for the less privileged, Nigerian deported from overseas, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Human right Protection, to mention but a few.

OUR AREA OF OPERATION To rehabilitate offenders » To Promote Love and peaceful co-existence among citizens thereby making the world a peaceful - place to live in » To Empowers both offenders and the general public with useful social, economic and legal information with the aim of bringing out the gold in them » Hazard awareness creation and management towards accident free society » To educate citizens irrespective of religion, ethnic background, social status or age towards imbibing good moral and behavioral pattern that promotes law and order » To discourage societal stigmatization and discrimination of prison inmate and ex-convict. One’s criminal act should not automatically label the incarcerated as criminally un-repentant » To carry out independent research on causes of crime, prison rehabilitation and any other issues relevant to the organization » To maintain a membership status for training of members on civic responsibility and human rights protection » To carry out periodic publications (Stepping Right Magazine, STM) www.magazine.pralarg.org and Movie production (PRALARG Movie Production Initiative, PMI) that addresses the target areas of the organization for public enlightenment » To defend and promote the fundamental human rights of the less privileged and protect them from being molested by individuals or institutions » To advocate for better prison welfare for inmates » To initiate alternative dispute resolution mechanism and facilitate processes for out of court settlement for identified minor cases » To carry out care and support/intervention/program for the less privileged
