I specializes in grassroots community organizing and activism on social economic rights, as well as advising communities on tenure issues; social planning and negotiating with authorities for tenure regularization and basic services provision. As a community organizer and social justice activist, I have worked in Kenya (Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Naivasha, Eldoret, Kericho, Kisumu and Embu), Uganda and Tanzania I have worked for eighteen (18) years in both Urban and rural settlements on development issues and issue based advocacy campaigns therefore he understands the challenges facing Kenya’s and East African region urban poor and rural squatters . Currently am a Director of Hequeendo Compassionate Friends which a local not for profit organization registered 2008 with the Ministry of East African Community, labor and Social Protection under the Public Benefits Organization Act 2013. It is a membership organization formed to specifically champion for the interests of the marginalized and discriminated people within the society so us to enhance their collective capacity in terms of advocating, empowering, influencing and lobbying for inclusion into developmental outcomes in poor settings both rural and peri urban settlements. We handle different issues effecting the local population working across all dimensions of poverty including tenure, housing, infrastructure, agriculture, income generation, water, sanitation and Health.My interest in joining the network is to learn more on social justice issues and connect with social justice activists around the globe.
