I am a Colombian woman interested in contributing to learn how to live every day in happier, healthier and respectful societies through my own-life experience and my work.

After finalizing my pharmacy studies at the National University of Colombia I worked for a couple of years with the pharmacist associations of Bogotá (AQFBC, from its initials in Spanish), Colombia (CNQFC, from its initials in Spanish) and South America (FEFAS, from its initials in Spanish). Afterwards I executed in Sierra Leone (Africa) the “Colombia-Sierra Leone” international pharmaceutical cooperation project, which focused on generating a South-South alliance between Sierra Leonean public sector and a Colombian civil society organization (IFARMA Foundation) in favor of mutual strengthening of capacities on pharmaceutical policies.

Since 2013 I joined Misión Salud, a Colombian civil society organization dedicated for 20 years to the promotion and defense of access to medicines in Colombia, the Latin American and Caribbean region and before multilateral organizations. Currently I am its deputy Director and we focus ourselves specially on identifying and contributing to overcome gaps that lead to lack of access to medicines by population in Colombia, in other countries in the region and at the global level.

I am currently the deputy coordinator of the Alliance LAC - Global for Access to Medicines and I am also the delegate of Latin America and the Caribbean in the Working Group on Health of Caritas Internationalis.

By joining to this network, I am looking to (1) improve my capacity to connect what we do at Misión Salud before decision-makers in the field of access to medicines with people’s challenges related to health and its social determinants, and (2) to put at the service of the Namati Community my knowledge and skills.
