BMafusire

My name is Bridget Mafusire, I am a lawyer, who has gained considerable exposure in the public and private sectors, and am now in the civil society for close to two years now. My current role as In-country Advisor for International Senior Lawyers Project (ISLP) involves coordination of the organisations local programs. In Zimbabwe, ISLP’s focus has been on natural resource governance and access to information. The role that I am in essentially is for identifying local and to an extent regional programming opportunities. As Namati is a movement for legal empowerment, I believe that I would gain from access to the broad range of resources available to the network as well as the large network of fellow lawyers working in civil society on natural resource governance issues. This is of particular importance to my role as I work with local civil society organisations, top support their advocacy initiatives, which involve legal empowerment activities from grassroots level all the way to policy and law maker level.
