Bakkidde

Bernadette is a lawyer by training specialised in access to justice, governance and rule of law. Professionally I have extensive experience of over 10 years in the Justice Law and Order Sector and Civil Society on issues related to access to justice, rule of law, governance through the provision of legal aid and development of simplified resource materials on human rights and the law.

Over the years, I have provided technical assistance to diverse institutions on governance, development of policies, capacity building on several aspects of the law and project development. The knowledge and skills were attained as a former FIDA Uganda Board member as well as Steering Committee member of Justice Centres Uganda a project of the Judiciary in Uganda for 6 years. However Berna is a member of the JLOS Land Justice Sub Committee as as well as member of the Uganda Association of Women Lawyers (FIDA Uganda) and the Foundation for Human Rights Initiative. A mentor under the Tuwezeshe Akiina Mama wa Africa Project that provides me with the opportunity to groom and pass on the knowledge and skills to the younger generation.
