Derrcy

I am a young individual driven by principles and goals desiring to develop myself and empower those who need empowerment on basic issues. I derive lessons from my experiences and desire to share the same. I am a law student awaiting to graduate and enrol in the advocacy program ultimately to get admitted to the bar and roll of Advocates in the High Court of Kenya. I work as a para-legal assistant with Nubian Rights Forum on their citizenship project where I enter client details into our on-line data management system, give advice to client on various legal issues like marital disputes and various torts and crimes against persons. I also escort and assist clients to various citizenship offices. Occasionally I go to the offices on their behalf and follow up on their files. On Saturdays I contribute on our community radio show, dubbed Uhaki which translated means Rights, where we seek to educate the community of their rights and privileges and ways to seek redress from the justice system in Kenya. I have also worked on two research projects with Research Solutions Africa where I did field research, talking to respondents on the ground and interviewing them and also project coordinating in the office ensuring the organised flow of data and management of high profile respondents.
My desire is to develop law deficient individuals from areas I cannot reach through this platform and gaining knowledge on the various laws and issues other jurisdictions are faced with.
