Yah V. Parwon BSW, LL.B Lawyer, Feminism and Women’s Right Advocacy best describes my professional journey. I am a Liberian and currently work in Liberia. I serve as the Advocacy Officer for medica Liberia, a women rights organization providing legal/access to justice, psychosocial and reproductive health services for survivors of Sexual Gender Based Violence in Liberia. As women’s rights advocate I engage local and national leaders to influence the development and or implementation of women rights laws and policies, provide legal services to survivors of violence and organize advocacy campaigns and activities geared toward behavior change for elimination of Gender Based Violence.

I am a 2015 Hansen Summer Institute Fellow, 2017 Nobel’s Women’s Initiative Sister -To-Sister Mentorship Program Fellow, Member of the Female Lawyers Association of Liberia, Member of the Liberia Feminist Forum and the Co-Founder of Rising Youth Mentorship Initiative a non-profit organization.
