Chundy is currently an Executive Director of a Cambodian non-governmental organization (NGO), namely Community Legal Education Center (CLEC). At the same time with his management, he is working as a lawyer with tremendous experiences in strategic litigation for many years since 1997. He won a first case when his organization, Community Legal Education Center (CLEC) took on a first-ever USAID project called Public Interest Legal Advocacy Project (PILAP); that is, the Koh Pich case where 96 families farming on an island in Mekong-Basac River were forced to move out to open way for a government’s development project. He and his team won a compensation of more than 3 million US dollars for the 96 families.

Legal empowerment is core action of his work and his NGO aiming to strengthen vulnerable communities and human rights defenders/activists to raise their voice and to initiate community advocacy actions to promote and protect their rights through legal training and awareness, community organizing and networking, establishing community-based paralegals and other legal support to hold duties bearers accountable.

Since 2004 up to present he has more and more deeply contributed to the promotion of human rights including good governance where he and his team have successfully supported and organized more than 30 multi-stakeholder dialogues or peace-tables where all key actors such as vulnerable communities including the indigenous ones, NGOs, companies, powerful people and the government meet and talk for peaceful and fair resolution to cases and issues involving land and natural resources affecting vulnerable communities due to illegal encroachment of individuals, powerful people, companies and the governmental authorities under development projects. Policy and law drafting and improvement such as environment code, access to information law, draft regional guideline for public participation in the environmental impact assessment and many others are part of his contribution.

Chundy has joined each year the survey on Rule of Law for a rule of law index under the World Justice Project and also a member of World Resource Institute, where he took part in the survey on Cambodian environment legal framework to reflect on the access to information, public participation and the access to justice in year 2014 and 2015.

Another significant role he has fulfilled since 2004 is a member of the labor Arbitration Council, the highly accredited institution that mediates, conciliates, and arbitrates labor collective disputes sent through from the Ministry of Labor since 2004 until now.
