Ms Nomboniso Nangu Maqubela was the Director of the National Alliance for the Development of Community Advice Offices (Nadcao) in South Africa. Nadcao advocated for the sustainability of community advice offices in South Africa and their efforts to improve access to justice for marginalised communities. In 2013, she was part of a delegation that represented the Community Advice Office (CAO) sector in Parliament to argue for the inclusion of the community-based paralegals in the Legal Practice Bill, and in 2014, the Legal Practice Act was assented which included a clause that would ensure the regulation of paralegals within two years of establishment of the Legal Practice Council. Nomboniso passed on in 2017.
