Preeti holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi, and a Masters degree in Environment and Development from Ambedkar University, Delhi.
As President of Lady Shri Ram College’s Environment Society, ‘Prakriti’, and as an ‘International Climate Champion’ selected by the British Council and TERI, she implemented a year-long project titled ‘Green Your Campus’. The aim of the project was to sensitise students and faculty towards the environment, by changing attitudes and practices and promoting an eco-friendly model for ‘greening’ one’s campus.

Preeti is particularly intrigued by Environmental Psychology. For her undergraduate thesis she carried out research on the link between environmental attitude and behaviour of undergraduate students in the National Capital Region, and also investigated differences in evaluation of environmental and non environmental risks. Keen to explore how significant aspects of ‘nature’ are in people’s lives, for her post graduate thesis she carried out an exploratory research that dealt with the loss of rural environment felt by migrants from villages to a city- Delhi.

In the past, she has interned with Centre for Science and Environment and Action for Children’s Environments.
