Sandra Tamari is a Palestinian-American organizer and the Director of Strategic Partnerships at the Adalah Justice Project (AJP). She holds a Masters degree in Arab Studies from Georgetown University, and from 1991-1993 lived and worked in the West Bank and Jordan, where she was Fulbright scholar learning among Palestinians in the Baqa’a refugee camp in Amman. Prior to her work with AJP, Sandra served as the Senior Program Manager for AMIDEAST, the Assistant Director of Georgetown University’s Center for Contemporary Arab Studies, and from 2008-2009 worked with Al-Jana, Arab Resource Center for Popular Arts in Beirut. Since the murder of Mike Brown in Ferguson in August 2014, she has focused her work on building joint liberation efforts between Palestinians and Black Americans. She is especially interested in how to translate strategic litigation strategies into advocacy campaigns in the United States and internationally to pursue Palestinian rights.
