Lorraine is the Executive Director of Change for Children (www.changeforchildren.org) and since 2002 has led ambitious fundraising and communications programs as well as managed the overseas development projects, strengthening partnerships between communities across Canada and throughout the developing world. Lorraine also served as Treasurer of the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation from Sept. 2012 to Sept. 2016.

Prior to 2002, Lorraine lived in Nicaragua for four years where she worked on the promotion of the Miskito and Mayagna indigenous territorial rights and their struggle for self-government (which they have since obtained). Lorraine has a bachelor’s degree in Native Studies from the University of Alberta, worked for many years in Alberta’s environmental movement and also worked with the Little Red River Cree in northern Alberta on cultural cartography and land claims research. Lorraine is currently studying a Graduate Diploma in International Development at the LSE.
