I am B.SANTOSH RAO DORA having 25 years development experience in different Civil Society Organisation and renowned state level research organisations after completion of my degree course and Master degree in Sociology. I basically associated with the state and national/ international level organisations in the sphere of rights based approach towards development of the tribal community through asserting their rights and entitlements of Government schemes and Programmes along with Law. Organised the community based organisations and Panchayatiraj Institutions, facilitated them to work closely with the law and Act by which they are quite capable to address their issues like Forest Right Act, Land Act, Right to Health and Nutrition and Livelihood programmes of government of Odisha. I was closely associated with state level network of tribal women (NARI SAMAJ), a federation of 54 tribal women organisations to ensure ecological development and address the climate change and natural disasters. The Nari Samaj is one of the state level organisation working on the issues of ecological development.
In PACS (Poorest Area Civil Society) programme of DFID (Department for International Development), I with my team of 40 tribal youths of Mayurbhanj District of Odisha worked in four blocks of Mayurbhanj District and ensured effective implementation of NREGA (National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) and Forest Right Act in 458 villages with a substantial outcomes in the context of employment generation, community forest right and individual forest right title along with 100% institutional delivery. Under this programme, 216 village /Gram sabha obtained community forest land title under Forest Right Act. 23000 tribal and PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups) got employment of average 60 days in a year.
Before the PACS programme I was worked with RCDC ( Regional Centre for Development Cooperation) in Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput District of Odisha where the team lead by me formed and strengthened the Community forest protection and management committees in 1000 villages and addressed the issues of deforestation, industrialisation and intervention of Hybrid seeds.
Under the NRM ( Natural resource Management) Project, I with my team worked for the tribal communities of Nabarangpur district and ensure the community based natural resource management and development without degrading the local environment and ensure sustainable development the tribal.
