Apply now to be a National Justice Partner

The Global Legal Empowerment Network is now accepting applications for new organisation partnerships. We are looking to collaborate with partners interested in using the newly adopted Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to advance justice and legal empowerment through national reforms. Apply Now.

The deadline to apply is May 11, 2016.

We will be accepting applications from network members in Tanzania, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Indonesia, and Argentina.

These partnerships will build on the successful SDG Justice Meetings hosted by network members Kituo Cha Sheria (Kenya), WANA Institute (Jordan) and the Alternative Law Group (Philippines) last year. These advocacy meetings brought together reformers in government and civil society to create national action plans for justice reforms linked to the implementation of SDG Goal 16. In the Philippines, a justice section was added to their Development Plan, in Kenya, the group was able to push through the country’s first Legal Aid law. You can read more on there efforts on in this post:

These partnerships will be a collaborative effort, with Namati providing intensive technical support, limited financial support ($5,000 - $10,000 USD), and other necessary assistance, as the selected partners work to advance justice through national reforms in their home countries. This could be accomplished by collaborating to use the SDGs to advocate for new legislation or to establish a new National Access to Justice Steering Committee. Ultimately, all project ideas are welcome.

We hope that your organisation will consider partnering with us as we work to make access to justice and legal empowerment a reality for all.
